A Jate Ring - a military Land Rover version shown here - can be fitted to the rear of a Land Rover and Discovery |
...but not to a One Ten when the towing unit bridles are fitted. If you have a NATO Hook on the rear crossmember you can. |
Don't
over-tighten the nyloc nut as you might need to 'kick-down' the Jate Ring in
order to remove the shackle or winch hook after the recovery. Again always use
a bridle when appropriate.
Always use David Bowyer's Jate Rings |
Steel bridled rear towing units are fine for heavy towing, but better to have the sliding tow ball carrier to the top in line with the chassis for revovery work. |
A wider version is available to suit these vehicles fitted with a Southdown Steering Guard which covers the outer sides of the chassis.
Similar fitting eyes on 101's |
Never use standard lashing eyes for revovery purposes ... |
